Laser Cutting and engraving *important info*
Before booking the laser, think about the materials you need to cut and how much time you will need. We use the program Lightburn with our laser which accepts DXF and AI file types. Your models should be scaled in MM if using Autocad. Our laser bed is 500mmx680mm, but it is recommended to design no more than an area of 500×600 to no produce an error. If you are cutting multiple items, especially with small pieces, please bring a roll of masking tape with you.
The booking time includes putting the files into the software and checking and cutting. We are limited in support with AutoCAD and if you require more time or assistance, this will be factored into your booking time, so please come prepared.
For cutting light wood/balsa, this is the quickest. We can cut up to 10mm of thickness. Acrylic will be slower, but MDF is the slowest. Depending on the complexity, we can cut 2-3 boards of MDF per hour.
